Job summary

Biogen, Inc. seeks a Family Access Manager to serve as the patient-facing expert on the Rare Disease journey.

You will engage cross-functional teams to support patients starting and staying on therapy, addressing non-clinical barriers, educating patients, and advocating for access with payers and sites of care. The role covers Austin, San Antonio, and the Valley, with a strong emphasis on patient education and support.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years’ business experience in healthcare/biotech with ≥3 years in account management, sales, or field reimbursement.
  • Successful record in field reimbursement, clinical education or pharmaceutical sales/management involving payers.
  • Experience with physician-administered drugs (PADs)/biologics and outpatient sites of service.
  • Experience leading cross-functionally and influencing without authority; case management a plus.
  • Familiar with legal/regulatory biotech environment; bilingual Spanish is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel ~60% of time.

Responsibilities

  • Support patients/families to navigate access to therapy, including payer policies and site-of-care coordination.
  • Represent patient needs in cross-functional meetings to build/maintain comprehensive case plans.
  • Identify and resolve patient access barriers (insurance, reimbursement, financial factors, site of care).
  • Coordinate with Market Access & Reimbursement to engage payers, specialty pharmacies, and distributors for access.
  • Provide emotional support to patients and families and communicate changes in access landscape.
