Job summary

Biogen seeks a Family Access Manager to act as the patient-facing expert in the Rare Disease journey, coordinating with Case Management, Account Executives, and Market Access to optimize access and therapy initiation. You will address non-clinical barriers, support patients and caregivers, and navigate payer policies across care sites.

The role requires 5+ years in healthcare/biotech with reimbursement experience, field-based roles, and a willingness to travel up to 60%.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of business experience in healthcare or biotech, with field-based account management, sales or reimbursement.
• Experience in field reimbursement, clinical education or management of products with payer involvement.
• Experience with PADs/biologics and outpatient sites of service.
• Strong understanding of patient reimbursement, charitable funding, and non-profit support.
• Willingness to travel up to 60% and valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Serve as patient facing expert for the Rare Disease patient journey and liaise with internal teams to support access to therapy.
• Participate in cross-functional meetings to build and maintain case plans for patients (insurance, coverage needs, treatment plans).
• Identify and resolve patient access barriers including insurance coverage and procurement issues.
• Collaborate with Market Access & Reimbursement to ensure payer engagement and appropriate reimbursement.
• Educate patients and caregivers on Biogen Patient services and resources.
• Develop networks with advocacy groups and participate in relevant events.
