Job summary

Krystal Biotech is seeking a Patient Access Liaison to support patients and care teams in IL, IN, MI, OH, and KY. This field-based role educates on payer access, prior authorizations, and appeals, while building relationships with patients, caregivers, and office staff to facilitate access to therapy.

The PAL will collaborate with specialty pharmacies and distributors, document progress in Krystal patient CRM, and travel up to 50% to sites of care.

Qualifications

• BS/BA degree required.
• 5+ years of experience in patient services, field reimbursement, biopharma sales or account management with at least 1 year directly with patients/families.
• Experience in rare diseases with patients/caregivers preferred.
• Familiarity with HIPAA guidelines and FDA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Educate patients and office staff about payer access and insurance processes, including authorization requirements.
• Help patients find care sites closer to home and options for home dosing.
• Identify personnel who support patient coverage and access needs.
• Educate on copay assistance and patient assistance programs.
• Provide non-medical educational support on initiating therapy.
• Coordinate next appointments and treatment steps.
• Build trusted relationships with patients and caregivers via multiple communication channels.
• Follow a structured education/support program to optimize adherence.
• Educate large centers and sites about procurement options, billing, and coding.
• Document progress in Krystal patient CRM/workflow system and manage tasks.
• Other duties as assigned.
