Job summary

Krystal Biotech, Inc. is seeking a Patient Access Liaison to support patients, caregivers, and healthcare staff in obtaining therapy access, reimbursement, and scheduling across the IL, IN, MI, OH, and KY regions.

The role emphasizes non-medical education, coordination of care, and collaboration with distributors and specialty pharmacies. The PAL will build relationships with patients and providers, educate on authorization processes, and help manage adherence during treatment, while traveling

Qualifications

• 5+ years of field-based experience in patient services or related roles.
• Scientific background and ability to learn product and disease information.
• Orphan or Rare disease experience with patients/caregivers.
• Familiarity with HIPAA guidelines and FDA regulations.
• Ability to travel 30–50%.
• Experience with Patient Journey Navigator (PJN) or patient services workflow is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Educate patients and office staff about payer access and insurance processes.
• Assist patients and office staff with finding sites of care closer to home and home dosing options.
• Navigate office staff to identify personnel supporting coverage and access needs.
• Provide education on affordability assistance options including copay programs and PAP.
• Provide non-medical educational support about initiating therapy.
• Prepare patients and coordinate next appointment and treatment.
• Develop trusted relationships with patients and caregivers via multiple communication channels.
• Follow a planned educational and support program to optimize therapy adherence.
• Document progress in Krystal patient CRM/Workflow system and assist with case management.
