Job summary

AbbVie, a global biopharma company, seeks a field-based access and reimbursement specialist to support oncology programs. You will educate physicians and payers on patient support programs, reimbursement pathways and coverage options while collaborating with internal stakeholders across the oncology portfolio.

The role covers building territory relationships with providers in designated cities, monitoring payer policies, and ensuring timely claims and prior authorizations.

Qualifications

• Oncology/hematology-oncology experience strongly preferred with familiarity of physician-administered therapies, reimbursement, distribution or complex access models.
• Understanding of coverage, coding, billing, reimbursement, benefit verification, prior authorization, appeals and payer policy.
• Ability to communicate technical billing/coding requirements at national and regional levels across care settings.

Responsibilities

• Educate HCPs on patient support programs and reimbursement tools and services.
• Educate on product-specific acquisition and access options such as specialty pharmacy networks and buy-and-bill.
• Educate on resources to address access issues and payer policy.
• Provide local expertise to educate providers on payer issues, coding changes, and claims submission processes.
• Collaborate with Oncology stakeholders for key account management.
• Report payer trends related to approved products to Patient Services and MHC teams.
• Establish and maintain relationships with providers within territory.
• Stay current on managed care, reimbursement, and policy activities.
