Job summary

U.S. Bank seeks a Mortgage Loan Originator to originate loans in an assigned Non-Bank territory and handle applications through initial underwriting. You will spend at least 50% of your time away from bank locations, building referrals and driving production.

Requirements include NMLS registration, a high school diploma or equivalent, and strong sales acumen. Knowledge of FNMA/FHLMC/FHA/VA underwriting is preferred, along with excellent communication and independent work skills.

Qualifications

• NMLS registration required under S.A.F.E. Act and Regulation Z
• Excellent sales ability and ability to work independently
• Strong knowledge of pricing and underwriting requirements of various mortgage insurers
• Familiar with underwriting requirements for FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA and local programs

Responsibilities

• Originate mortgage loans in assigned Non-Bank territory
• Take applications and conduct preliminary underwriting reviews
• Submit loan applications to processing and underwriting for approval
• Follow up to secure documents for processing and closing
• Spend at least 50% of time away from U.S. Bank locations while conducting sales activities
