Job summary

AdaptHealth is seeking a Medical Equipment Technician to deliver, set up, and support respiratory and home medical equipment in patients' homes, clinics, or other settings. You will educate patients and caregivers, perform assessments, and ensure safety and independence for continued care.

Responsibilities include equipment maintenance, compliance with HIPAA, on-call rotation, and documenting activities. A high school diploma and a valid driver’s license are required; healthcare/field-service

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of healthcare technician, military service, delivery/field service with customer service interaction or related experience preferred.
• Senior level requires two years of relevant experience, including one year in a similar role.
• Valid and unrestricted driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain knowledge of HME products, services, and applicable regulations.
• Perform patient assessments and re assessments to support appropriate ongoing care.
• Educate patients and caregivers on the safe use, care, and troubleshooting of respiratory and HME equipment.
• Respond to patient equipment issues, including under emergency conditions when required.
• Deliver, set up, retrieve, clean, and maintain equipment in accordance with company policies and safety standards.
• Protect patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and infection control standards, including proper use of PPE.
• Process orders and complete documentation accurately and timely to support patient care and reimbursement.
• Maintain basic reimbursement knowledge to ensure proper billing for equipment and services.
