Job summary

SMS Shipbreaking, LLC is seeking an Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager for our Brownsville, TX location. You will lead and manage all Safety, Environmental Compliance, and Risk Functions, driving initiatives to enhance EHS performance across the shipbreaking facility.

The role requires field leadership, strong regulatory knowledge, and experience in incident investigations, training, and program management, with a focus on maintaining compliance and safety excellence in a high-hazard

Qualifications

• 4+ years of EHS experience in industrial or similar environments.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations; familiarity with EPA programs.
• Experience in incident investigation and root cause analysis.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; bilingual English/Spanish is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead site EHS performance improvements and promote a strong safety culture.
• Serve as the site EHS subject matter expert and advisor to leadership.
• Spend ~60% of time in the field observing, coaching, and mentoring employees.
• Supervise Safety Coordinator/Techs and drive SMS core values.
