Job summary

Cascade Community Healthcare in the Washington, DC area seeks a Crisis Intervention Specialist to provide face-to-face and phone crisis intervention, stabilization, and resolution for individuals or families in acute distress at home or in the community.

The role requires knowledge of local resources, coordination with the crisis team, and documentation of follow-up actions. Swing shifts available; competitive pay with comprehensive benefits including PSLF eligibility.

Qualifications

• Must have a minimum of one year of education or one year experience in mental health or related field.
• WA State Department of Health Credential required (Registered-AAC or Certified AAC).
• Must pass WA State Patrol background check.
• National background check may be required if not lived in WA the last 3 years.
• Must communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Face-to-face and phone crisis intervention, stabilization and resolution for individuals or families in acute distress.
• Provide services to individuals with acute symptoms of mental illness at risk of harm to self or others for appropriate referral.
• Maintain knowledge of Lewis County resources to refer individuals/families to resources that resolve crisis.
• Coordinate follow-up actions with the crisis team.
• Assist in facilitation of voluntary hospitalization and coordinate involuntary placement as needed.
• Provide liaison with law enforcement, schools, health personnel and other agencies.
