Job summary

Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) seeks an APS Investigator Specialist to protect elderly and disabled adults in our Region 5 program. The role requires field visits, collaboration with families, and the ability to travel frequently to respond to reports of abuse or neglect.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related field is preferred.
• Two years of relevant social, human, or protective services experience.
• Experience with interviews or assessments in sensitive matters is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Investigate reports of abuse, neglect, or exploitation of elderly or disabled adults.
• Provide services after hours to ensure 24-hour coverage.
• Develop individualized service plans and document cases thoroughly.
• Make home visits in various environments and maintain safety.
• Prepare reports for management and participate in community outreach.
