Job summary

Department of Economic Security (DES) is seeking an experienced Adult Protective Services (APS) Investigator in Phoenix, AZ. The role focuses on investigations of abuse, neglect, or exploitation of vulnerable adults, with extensive travel and collaboration with community partners.

Responsibilities include case development, safety planning, and testifying in court. Applicants should have a degree in a related field and relevant investigation experience, with state benefits and a flexible work

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Social Work, Criminal Justice, Rehabilitation, Healthcare or related field.
• One year of professional case management/investigations experience.
• Demonstrated ability to manage sensitive information with discretion.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and assess complex cases involving vulnerable adults.
• Maintain accurate case files and write progress notes and plans.
• Coordinate services and referrals for guardianship or conservatorship when needed.
• Provide testimony and collaborate with partners to ensure client safety.
• Train and supervise new staff and provide on-the-job guidance.
