Arizona Department of Economic Security (DES) seeks an Adult Protective Services (APS) Investigator to support vulnerable adults 18+ who are abused, neglected, or exploited. The role involves complex case investigations, reporting, and collaboration with clients and community resources.

Travel as needed, prepare comprehensive notes and risk assessments, testify in court when required, and help ensure timely services and protection.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Social Work, Criminal Justice, Rehabilitation, Healthcare, or closely related field.
• One year of experience providing professional Case Management / Investigations Services (Intake, Needs Assessment, Service Planning, and Monitoring and Evaluation).
• Experience in interviewing and risk assessment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Investigate complex cases involving vulnerable adults 18+ who are alleged to be abused, neglected or exploited.
• Travel as needed to conduct investigations within required time frames.
• Write comprehensive progress notes, case plans, risk assessments, safety assessments and closure summaries.
• Maintain accurate and timely case files.
• Provide information and/or in-service to community agencies and the general public.
• Testify in court and coordinate services for in-home and out-of-home placement.
• Collaborate with clients, providers, and community resources to deliver appropriate assistance.
• Assist with training new staff and supervising team members.
