Job summary

TekSynap is seeking a Field Hardware Support Engineer in Aurora, CO to install, configure, and maintain AV and IT hardware in support of the National Reconnaissance Office. You will work with staff and leadership as a trusted SME for staff and leadership.

The role requires 2 years of hands-on field support, CompTIA Security+, and manufacturer trainings (Evertz, Extron, Crestron). Buckley Space Force Base site, with on-site work and benefits package offered.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or equivalent technical/vocational training in electronics, AV, or IT hardware.
• Equivalency: High school diploma plus 6 years of directly relevant hands-on hardware support experience in lieu of a degree.
• CompTIA Security+ certification required.
• Manufacturer trainings (e.g. Evertz, Extron, Crestron) included in qualifications.
• CTS (CTS-I, CTS-D) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, fault isolation, and repair of AV hardware in classified and general-purpose spaces.
• Support live events, briefings, and demonstrations; ensure AV systems are operational and provide on-site technical assistance.
• Coordinate with system administrators and vendors for Tier 2/3 escalations and equipment repairs.
• Document all service activities, equipment inventory, and configuration changes in the ITSM/ticketing system.
• Adhere to government security protocols, including handling of classified materials and controlled access areas.
• Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours and urgent support needs.
• Assist with system upgrades, cabling, and physical infrastructure improvements.
