Job summary

ACV Auctions is seeking an enthusiastic Inspector to join our growing team. Inspectors are the face of our company, combining automotive knowledge with clear communication to keep dealers informed.

You will travel to dealerships, auctions, and off-lease sites to assess condition, document findings, and support the sales team. A valid driver's license and ability to lift up to 25 lbs are required; English fluency is essential.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience in the automobile field (body, paint, or mechanical) with customer service.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Valid driver’s license and access to a registered and insured vehicle.
• Able to perform manual labor including standing, lifting up to 25 lbs, and occasional bending.

Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections of vehicles at dealerships, auctions, and off-lease sites to detect damage and mechanical issues.
• Prepare and submit reports of vehicle condition, repair estimates, and related documentation.
• Assist sales team with up-sell or cross-sell of services and products.
• Travel to and from dealerships and homes to inspect and write condition reports.
• Capture multiple photos of vehicles and upload them to the image server.
• List inspected vehicles on the auction platform for bidding and purchasing.
• Sign up independent dealerships as buyers to use the digital platform.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
