Job summary

DMC is seeking an Automation Travel Engineer to solve problems at customer sites and bring complex systems to life. This hybrid role emphasizes frequent travel (domestic/international) with additional compensation. You will interface with hardware and software, working on PLC/HMI/SCADA platforms and collaborating across teams and clients.

Responsibilities include development, commissioning, and ongoing support, plus mentoring of junior staff. Authorized U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, or Computer Engineering (or related field). GPA 3.4+ normally required.
• 2+ years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency in programming (text-based and object-oriented).
• Willingness to travel 90–100% for the first 18 months.
• Access to a reliable vehicle for work-related travel.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship now or in the future.
• Experience designing projects in industrial automation systems (PLC, Motion, Process Control, HMI, SCADA, robots, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Programs applications per DMC standards to meet customer requirements.
• Commissions solutions at customer sites, traveling domestically/internationally as needed.
• Works with PLC/HMI/SCADA platforms (Siemens, Rockwell, Ignition, etc.).
• Continuously learns relevant technologies with guidance, gaining knowledge in sales, business development, and project processes.
• Supports system architecture design and engineering tasks at all stages, taking leading and supporting roles.
• Mentors and technically advises new team members.
• Conveys deliverables to customers and maintains relationships.
