Job summary

Mehnert USA LLC seeks a Field Service Automation Technician to install, commission, and service industrial automation at high-reliability manufacturers across the US. You will troubleshoot, repair, and upgrade systems while collaborating with controls engineers and project managers.

Travel to customer sites will be up to 75–80%, including potential international trips; flexible hours to align with production schedules.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years in field service of industrial automation systems.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to lead technical efforts independently in the field.
• Strong customer-facing communication and decision-making.
• Authorization to work in the US.

Responsibilities

• Execute mechanical and electrical installation of industrial automation equipment at high-reliability sites.
• Perform system repairs, upgrades, and retrofits.
• Support commissioning and startup activities with pneumatic and wiring verification.
• Troubleshoot and fault-diagnose mechanical, electrical and pneumatic systems.
• Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance per OEM specs.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
• Document work, capture redlines, and complete field service reports.
• Work safely, adhere to safety procedures, and perform LOTO practices.
• Act as primary technical interface with customers during service and commissioning.
