Job summary

Progressive is seeking an auto damage claims adjuster to serve as the main contact with customers, guiding the repair process from start to finish. You will manage your own inventory, work with body shops, and negotiate repair pricing while assessing liability.

This is a field role with a company car, requiring frequent travel within the assigned geographic area. Candidates must reside in Fresno, Visalia, or Tulare, CA, and may report to an office occasionally.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of relevant work experience with one year appraisal/estimatics or insurance experience.
• Associate's degree plus 3 years relevant experience with one year appraisal/estimatics or insurance experience.
• Bachelor's degree plus 1 year appraisal/estimatics or insurance experience.
• Valid driver's license, auto insurance, and compliance with Progressive's driving standards and policies.

Responsibilities

• Complete vehicle inspections, write estimates, determine total loss evaluations, and set clear expectations and timelines.
• Negotiate repair process with body shops.
• Document information related to the claim and make decisions consistent with claims standards and local laws.
• Evaluate and handle claim payments and resolution of claims without payments.
• Review and determine validity of any supplement requests.
