Job summary

Kokosing Materials is seeking a versatile plant technician to support hot-mix asphalt production across multiple Northeast Ohio sites. The role involves plant upgrades, maintenance and repairs at various plants and terminals, with a mix of indoor and outdoor work in Cuyahoga, Lake, Portage, and Geauga counties.

The position is 1st shift and emphasizes safety, teamwork and reliable operation of equipment. Candidates must have knowledge of asphalt plant operations and be able to work nights,

Qualifications

• Knowledge of asphalt plant operations.
• Welding experience with certification.
• Ability to work nights and weekends (on-call).
• Mechanical knowledge essential.
• Crane rigging and signaling certification a strong plus.
• Lockout/tagout experience or certification.
• Class B CDL required.
• Able to lift 75 lbs and work at heights up to 125'.
• Able to pass drug and alcohol screenings.
• Able to operate in confined spaces.
• Clean driving record.

Job Description:

Summary:

• The individual will be working at various asphalt plants and terminals in the Northeast Ohio region (Cuyahoga County, Lake County, Portage County, Geauga County) supporting production of hot-mix asphalt through plant upgrades, maintenance and repairs.
• Working environment is a combination of indoor and outdoor.

• Willing to fill in, when needed, to perform other duties at the Asphalt Plant (Ground Man or Loader Man)

Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

• Must have knowledge of Asphalt Plant Operations
• Ability to work nights and weekends (on-call)
• Must have cutting and welding experience and be able to pass certification
• Must have mechanical knowledge
• Crane rigging and signaling experience (certification is a very strong plus)
• Able to work in confined spaces.
• Lockout tagout experience and/or certification
• Possesses a class B CDL
• Able to operate manlifts and work in elevated areas
• Possess a clean driving record
• Must be able to pass drug and alcohol screenings on demand
• Must be able to work alone or with large groups of team members
• Able to work in all environments. Wind, rain, snow, heat, cold, loud areas, etc.
• Able to lift 75 lbs
• Able to climb ladders and work at various heights up to 125'
• Able to solve problems
