Kokosing Materials, Inc. in Ohio seeks a versatile plant technician to support hot-mix asphalt production across multiple Northeast Ohio sites.

The role covers upgrades, maintenance and repairs at plants and terminals, with a mix of indoor and outdoor work in 1st shift. Candidates must have asphalt plant operations knowledge, be able to work nights and weekends on-call, hold a Class B CDL, and pass drug/alcohol screenings.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Asphalt Plant Operations.
• Ability to work nights and weekends (on-call).
• Cutting and welding experience with certification.
• Mechanical knowledge and aptitude.
• Crane rigging and signaling experience (certification a strong plus).
• Able to work in confined spaces and lift up to 75 lbs.
• Lockout tagout experience/certification.
• Class B CDL holding and clean driving record.
• Able to operate manlifts and work at heights up to 125 ft.
• Pass drug and alcohol screenings on demand.

Responsibilities

• Support production of hot-mix asphalt through plant upgrades, maintenance and repairs.
• Work at various plants and terminals; indoor and outdoor environments.
• Operate company equipment and follow supervisor direction.
• Complete required paperwork and training; represent the company positively.
• Willing to fill in as Ground Man or Loader Man as needed.

Job Description:

Summary:

• The individual will be working at various asphalt plants and terminals in the Northeast Ohio region (Cuyahoga County, Lake County, Portage County, Geauga County) supporting production of hot-mix asphalt through plant upgrades, maintenance and repairs.
• Working environment is a combination of indoor and outdoor.

• Must have mechanical knowledge
• Crane rigging and signaling experience (certification is a very strong plus)
• Able to work in confined spaces.
• Lockout tagout experience and/or certification
• Possesses a class B CDL
• Able to operate manlifts and work in elevated areas
• Possess a clean driving record
• Must be able to pass drug and alcohol screenings on demand
• Must be able to work alone or with large groups of team members
• Able to work in all environments. Wind, rain, snow, heat, cold, loud areas, etc.
• Able to lift 75 lbs
• Able to climb ladders and work at various heights up to 125'
• Able to solve problems
