Job summary

Marstel-Day LLC seeks several qualified, on-call Cultural Resource Crew Chiefs to support Phase I–III archaeology field studies and related work in the Mid-Atlantic/United States. Positions are part-time, hourly, and on-call with mileage and per‑diem reimbursement.

Responsibilities include field execution, artifact analysis, data recording, mapping, and report writing. Travel of 1–3 weeks may be required; sick leave and per diem are provided for these temporary roles.

Qualifications

• Experience in archaeology field studies and report preparation required.
• Graduate degree in archaeology/anthropology with ≥1 year professional field experience; master’s a plus.
• Strong background in cultural resources work.
• GPS and GIS experience is a plus.
• Willingness to travel within the U.S. as required.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support archaeology field studies for federal/state projects.
• Assist with artifact analysis and technical writing.
• Perform data recording, mapping, note taking, and photography.
• Travel for 1–3 weeks on projects as assigned; mileage and per‑diem reimbursed.
