Job summary

Stantec is seeking three part-time on-call Archaeological Field Technicians to support projects from our Central Pennsylvania and Hampton offices. Responsibilities include survey transects, recordation and delineation of sites, site forms, sketches, and shovel test pit excavations; travel is required.

Qualifications include a BA in Archaeology or Anthropology, field school completion or one year of professional experience, a valid driver's license, and the ability to deploy remotely for extended

Qualifications

• BA in Archaeology or Anthropology required or field school completion.
• 1 year professional archaeological experience or field school equivalent preferred.
• Experience with archaeological survey and paperwork is desirable.
• Ability to travel and deploy to project locations.

Responsibilities

• Survey transects up to fifteen miles in length.
• Recordation and delineation of archaeological sites.
• Completion of archaeological site forms, site sketches, profiles, logs, and other paperwork.
• Excavation of shovel test pits, test units, trenches, or other excavation as needed.
• Identification and description of soil profiles, horizons, artifacts, and cultural features.
• Artifact organization, processing, and inventory
