Job summary

Cypress Environmental Consulting in Texas is seeking an Archaeologist for a full-time on-site role. You will plan and perform archaeological field surveys, conduct background research, analyze data, and prepare technical reports under Texas Antiquities Code, NHPA Section 106, and NEPA where applicable.

Responsibilities include managing fieldwork, coordinating mobilization, supporting analysis, and communicating results to staff and clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Archaeology or Anthropology.
• Completion of an archaeological field school.
• At least 3 years of cultural resource experience.
• Experience with Texas or Southwestern U.S. surveys.
• Proficient GPS data collection and survey methods.
• Strong writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform field surveys, monitoring, testing, and data recovery.
• Prepare technical reports and conduct background research.
• Plan mobilization/demobilization of projects.
• Support NHPA Section 106 and Texas Antiquities Code analyses.
• Coordinate proposals including scope, schedule, and budget.
• Ensure high-quality technical products through QA/QC.
