Job summary

WSP USA seeks an experienced Project Archaeologist Consultant to lead field surveys and oversee CRM investigations across Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Arkansas. The role may be based in Houston, San Antonio, Dallas/Fort Worth, El Paso, New Orleans, Tulsa, or Shreveport.

This field-focused position involves two-thirds field leadership and one-third reporting, research, and project administration. Travel is extensive to support project needs and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in archaeology, anthropology, historic preservation or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience supporting Section 106 and Section 110 compliance.
• Experience leading CRM archaeology projects and supervising field staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead archaeological survey, monitoring, and excavation field teams across diverse project types.
• Support project planning, scoping, and execution for CRM projects.
• Coordinate with clients, landowners, contractors, permitting agencies and stakeholders.
