Job summary

WSP is seeking an experienced Project Archaeologist Consultant to support our Earth & Environment practice across TX, LA, OK, and AR. The role is field-focused, with two-thirds time in field leadership and one-third in reporting, research, and project administration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, Historic Preservation, or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience supporting Section 106/110 compliance.
• CRM archaeology projects experience in TX, OK, LA, or AR preferred.
• Experience leading archaeological field investigations and supervising staff.
• Strong understanding of federal/state cultural resource regulations and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead archaeological survey, monitoring, and excavation field teams across diverse project types.
• Assist with project planning, scoping, and execution for CRM projects.
• Coordinate with clients, landowners, contractors, permitting agencies, and stakeholders.
• Assist clients with compliance under Section 106/110 and related regulations.
• Prepare technical reports, site records, impact assessments, and data management deliverables.
• Conduct investigations, site evaluations, inspections, and related research to meet project goals.
• Communicate with regulatory agencies, historical organizations, clients, and partners.
• Maintain knowledge of current archaeological standards and best practices.
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior staff and field personnel.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver projects on schedule and budget.
• Uphold HSSE standards and ethical business practices.
