Job summary

Covaris, a PerkinElmer Company, seeks an experienced Field Applications Scientist to support customers across the Mid-Atlantic region. This field-based role requires delivering technical training, conducting on-site demos, and providing pre-sales consultation for Sample Preparation, Genomics, Proteomics and Epigenomics workflows.

The candidate will troubleshoot workflows, author training materials, and collaborate with Sales, Solutions and Product teams to drive adoption of Covaris solutions.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years hands-on lab experience in molecular biology workflows.
• NGS library preparation experience and nucleic acid or protein extraction experience preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for training sessions, seminars and customer meetings.
• Willingness to travel up to 70% to support sales territories and scientific meetings.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site post-sales training through classroom instruction and hands-on sessions; deliver remote trainings as needed.
• Plan and execute on-site product demonstrations to support commercial objectives and optimize demo performance.
• Partner with Sales Territory Managers as scientific SME; lead pre-sales technical presentations and customer education programs.
• Represent Covaris at trade shows and conferences with posters, talks, webinars and live demos.
• Serve as primary technical contact for customer inquiries via Salesforce and troubleshoot assay design, workflows and software.
• Lead technical writing projects for training materials, protocols, and application notes.
• Collaborate with Solutions, Product Mgmt, Marketing, and R&D to relay customer feedback and support product improvement.
