Job summary

Ashton North LLC seeks an experienced Assistant Technical Applications Manager to lead hands-on engineering efforts in industrial gas detection and automation. You will design solutions, troubleshoot field issues, and provide technical support from design through commissioning, while collaborating with customers and cross-functional teams.

The role emphasizes field engagements, customer training, and continuous improvement of products and systems in demanding industrial environments.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in applications engineering, controls, automation, or related field.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electronics Engineering.
• Hands-on experience with installation, startup, commissioning, and customer-site support.
• Experience programming and troubleshooting Allen-Bradley and/or IDEC PLCs and HMIs.
• Strong knowledge of Modbus RTU/TCP and industrial signaling (4–20mA, 0–5V, 0–10V).
• Ability to diagnose complex electrical and control-system issues; OSHA/MSHA familiarity would help.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a senior technical resource for gas detection and control system applications.
• Lead system design, automation strategies, and system integration.
• Configure, program, troubleshoot, and support PLCs, HMIs, and networks.
• Manage projects from concept through commissioning and training.
• Provide on-site startup, troubleshooting, and customer technical support.
• Develop technical proposals, system documentation, and compliance materials.
