Job summary

Aspire Talent Solutions is seeking an Assistant Technical Applications Manager for an industry-leading gas detection and automation company. This hands-on role blends engineering, field support, and product development to solve complex applications in challenging environments.

You will lead technical activities, design control architectures, program PLCs and HMIs, and provide direct customer training and field service across industrial facilities.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in applications engineering, controls, automation, field engineering or related.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics engineering or related discipline.
• Hands-on experience with installations, startup, commissioning, and customer-site support.
• Experience programming and troubleshooting Allen-Bradley and/or IDEC PLCs and HMIs.
• Strong knowledge of industrial communications (Modbus RTU/TCP) and instrumentation.

Responsibilities

• Serve as senior technical resource for gas detection, automation, monitoring, and control system applications.
• Partner with customers to understand challenges and develop practical solutions.
• Lead system design: control architecture, automation strategies, communications, instrumentation.
• Configure, program, troubleshoot, and support PLCs, HMIs, and industrial networks.
• Manage projects from concept to commissioning and start-up.
• Collaborate with sales, engineering, field service, and product teams.
• Develop technical proposals, system documentation, and operating manuals.
• Perform testing, verification, and troubleshooting to ensure reliability.
• Identify field issues and drive product improvements with design engineers.
• Provide on-site commissioning and field support at customer facilities.
• Train customers on operation, maintenance, and best practices.
• Conduct product demonstrations and technical presentations.
• Review service reports for accuracy and final status.
• Coordinate field service resources based on project needs and priorities.
• Establish and maintain application engineering procedures and standards.
• Mentor application engineers and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
