ASHFORD CONNEX, LLC is seeking an Assistant Technical Applications Manager to combine engineering expertise with hands-on field support for industrial gas detection, atmospheric monitoring, automation, and safety systems. You will lead system design, configure PLCs/HMIs, troubleshoot on-site, and mentor application engineers while collaborating with customers to deliver reliable, compliant solutions.

This hands-on role requires travel to customer sites and close collaboration with internal teams

Qualifications

• 10+ years in applications engineering, controls, automation, or related technical environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electronics Engineering.
• Hands-on experience with installation, startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, and customer-site support.
• Experience programming/troubleshooting Allen-Bradley and/or IDEC PLCs and HMIs is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Modbus RTU/TCP.
• Understanding of electrical systems, wiring, schematics, and instrumentation.
• Experience with diagnostic equipment such as digital multimeters and oscilloscopes.

Responsabilités

• Serve as a senior technical resource for gas detection, automation, and control-system applications.
• Lead design activities including control architecture, automation strategies, communications, and system integration.
• Configure, program, troubleshoot, and support PLCs, HMIs, and industrial networks.
• Manage technical projects from concept through testing, startup, and commissioning.
• Provide on-site commissioning, startup assistance, troubleshooting, and customer support at facilities.
• Train customers on system operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
