Job summary

Molex is seeking an early-career Field Application Engineer to support Bay Area customers in integrating ACC and AEC cables. You’ll bring up links, perform tests, and document results on-site at customer labs and data centers.

Travel to customer sites, including same-day visits, is expected. You’ll work with Interop and firmware teams to reproduce issues, collect logs, and provide clear field reports while growing with senior FAEs.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering Tech, or related.
• 1–3 years in systems integration, interop/validation lab, test, or FAE roles
• Networking and embedded fundamentals; hands-on with equipment, cables, test setups
• Linux (CLI, packages, dmesg/journalctl) and bash scripting proficiency
• Strong communication skills and comfort working directly with customers
• Travel up to 50% with valid driver’s license
• Organized, detail-oriented, and flexible when priorities change

Responsibilities

• On-site bring-up of ACC/AEC cables in customer labs and data centers
• Perform link bring-up, link training, and power-up/reset checks on customer platforms
• Support demos, evaluations, and qualification testing at customer sites
• Set up and maintain test setups, cables, and equipment for customer engagements
• Reproduce field issues and relay findings to Interop and firmware teams
• Collect logs and CMIS telemetry from Linux hosts/switches
• OS I Layer 1/2 debugging and root-cause analysis (Ethernet, PCIe, InfiniBand)
• Write customer-facing reports, field issue summaries, and basic metrics
• Track samples, evaluation units, and faulty units/returns through analysis and resolution
• Document procedures and results; script log collection/data processing (bash/Python)
• Voice of the customer; track escalations with engineering through resolution
