Job summary

GNR - Global Network Recruiting represents a fast-growing, publicly traded fabless semiconductor company seeking a Field Application Engineer to support their West Coast customer base. This role focuses on owning design-in, training, and technical support across PCIe Retimers, Switch products, and Active Cables.

Based in the San Francisco Bay Area, you will work cross-functionally with sales, marketing, design engineering, operations, and finance, reporting to the VP of Sales and Business

Qualifications

• Experience as a Field Application Engineer or Application Engineer in interconnects.
• Strong understanding of data center ecosystems and customer requirements.
• Proven ability to support Tier-1 CSPs and ODM partners.

Responsibilities

• Own first-level technical support for West Coast customers.
• Collaborate with Applications and Design Engineering to resolve issues.
• Escalate and communicate status to management as needed.
• Travel for onsite customer visits and serve as main technical contact.
• Align on technical roadmaps and drive customer success.

Job description

We are working with a fast-growing, publicly traded fabless semiconductor company looking for a Field Application Engineer to support their West Coast customer base. Their product portfolio spans PCIe Retimers, Switch products, and Active Cables, serving some of the largest hyperscale and data center customers in the industry.

We are looking for a candidate with a proven track record in a customer-facing applications or field engineering role within the semiconductor industry. This person will own design-in, training, and technical support for the company's product portfolio. This is a results-oriented, high-visibility role working cross-functionally with sales, marketing, design engineering, operations, and finance teams, reporting directly to the company's VP of Sales and Business Development.

This is a full-time role based in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Total Compensation: $350k+ (base + bonus) and stock options

Responsibilities:

• Own first-level technical support for interconnect customers across the West Coast
• Partner with Applications Engineering, Design Engineering, CPU vendors, and IP vendors to resolve customer issues quickly
• Keep management informed on open issues and escalation needs
• Communicate directly with customers to understand needs and troubleshoot technical challenges
• Conduct onsite customer visits and serve as the primary technical point of contact for assigned customers

Requirements:

• Current experience as an FAE or AE in the interconnect industry
• Strong understanding of the data center ecosystem
• Experience supporting Tier 1 CSPs and their ODM partners
• Currently based in the San Francisco Bay Area
• Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
• Experience navigating a multinational corporate environment to execute customer programs and align on technical roadmaps
• Self-motivated, professional, and team-oriented
