Job summary

EnerSys seeks a Field Applications Engineer to support the reliability and performance of battery-buffered DC fast charging and energy storage systems deployed in the field.

You will troubleshoot complex hardware, software, firmware, and networking issues, analyze logs and fleet data, reproduce field failures, and validate corrective actions before deployment. This is a hands-on, cross-functional role with ~30% travel, including international.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering discipline.
• Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments and programming languages such as C and C++.
• Electrical troubleshooting fundamentals, including reading wiring diagrams and schematics.
• Ability to collect and analyze system logs, telemetry, and fault data to support troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve reliability and performance of battery-buffered DC fast charging stations.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, firmware, communications, networking, and system-level issues.
• Lead or support root-cause investigations into downtime, reboots, charging faults, and degraded performance.
• Collaborate with Site Reliability Engineering to analyze large datasets and identify reliability trends.
• Translate field data into actionable engineering recommendations for hardware and software teams.
• Document investigations, actions, test results, and lessons learned to improve the charging platform.
