Job summary

SES AI Corp. is seeking a Field Application Engineer (FAE) to lead field deployment, install, and service for advanced battery and energy-storage systems. The role covers onsite service, phone support, and remote troubleshooting with hands-on hardware and software responsibilities.

The candidate will collaborate with customers, engineering teams, manufacturing partners, and business development teams. Occasional after-hours support and domestic travel are expected based on project needs.

Qualifications

• Experience with batteries, BMS, energy-storage systems, power electronics, EV charging systems, or renewable-energy products.
• Experience commissioning or servicing battery packs, BMS, EMS, PCS, inverters, or cloud-connected energy systems.
• Familiarity with battery operating parameters, fault alarms, protection functions, state of charge, and state of health.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical contact for customers and answer product-related questions by phone, email, and remote-support tools.
• Lead onsite installation, commissioning, configuration, testing, maintenance, and system upgrades.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, communication, and system-integration issues involving battery packs, BMS, EMS, PCS, inverters, gateways, and edge devices.
• Analyze system logs, operating data, fault codes, and alarms to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
• Work with engineering and quality teams to resolve field issues, verify solutions, and improve product reliability.
• Develop service procedures, troubleshooting guides, technical documentation, and customer-training materials.
• Provide occasional after-hours support and travel domestically to customer and project sites as required.
