Job summary

Form Energy is hiring a Sr. Field Service Engineer to deploy and operate its multi-day energy storage systems. You will develop tooling and processes, lead field diagnostics, and collaborate with hardware, software, and reliability teams to ensure high uptime of Form’s iron‑air battery technology.

You will travel to sites up to 50% and contribute to product improvements through field feedback and data analysis. Relocation assistance is available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Chemical/Mechanical/Process Engineering or related field (6+ years in corrosive liquid or combustible gas handling)
• Experience troubleshooting liquid/gas handling systems (ventilation, distribution)
• Direct experience with Hydrogen gas management or electrolyte processing is a plus
• Able to read, interpret, and redline P&IDs and mechanical schematics
• Proficient with hand/power tools and actuators in liquid/gas handling systems
• Strong knowledge of fluid systems interfacing with electronics, sensors, and control systems
• Experience with spill response, environmental containment, and safe handling of hazardous chemicals or industrial coolants
• Experience using SQL, Python and SolidWorks is a plus
• Experience in energy generation/storage is desirable
• Excellent problem solving, with cross-functional leadership
• Valid driver’s license; ability to move up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Conceive and specify field tooling, diagnostics, and test fixtures for electrolyte and gas management systems.
• Partner with design teams to ensure DFS of fluid systems is accessible, maintainable, and safe.
• Provide Tier 3/4 remote and on-site diagnostics and troubleshooting for equipment.
• Define data signatures for fleet monitoring and identify degradation trends.
• Author field repair procedures ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.
• Lead or support 8D RCA processes for critical fluid system failures.
• Travel to client sites up to 50% and support surge periods with field work.
