Job summary

Recru is seeking a Field Application Engineer to install, configure, and commission electrical systems for pool equipment. You will lead field execution, troubleshoot power and communication issues, and train customers and installers.

You’ll work with leadership to improve products and installation practices, travel statewide (up to 50%), and support on-site and remote customers with clear, hands-on guidance.

Qualifications

• Strong practical understanding of electricity including AC/DC, voltage, current, grounding.
• Hands-on installation, commissioning, and field service experience with electrical systems.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams and use a multimeter for systematic troubleshooting.
• Clear customer communication and training skills.
• Willingness to travel statewide up to 50%, including overnight trips.

Responsibilities

• Assess site readiness and recommend configuration for installation and commissioning.
• Install, configure, and commission systems and sensors; coordinate with electrical contractors as needed.
• Diagnose power, wiring, relay, control, and RS-485 issues across equipment.
• Set up controller connectivity, app access, and verify operation.
• Provide on-site and remote support, investigate root causes, and ensure follow-through on performance issues.
• Train installers, service teams, builders, and customers; support sales with demonstrations and onboarding.
• Partner with engineering on field trials, hardware and firmware validation, and document findings.
• Improve checklists, wiring references, and training materials while following safety practices.
