Role Overview

The Robotics Field Application Engineer will support the deployment, operation, and optimization of MAXIMO robots in the field, combining technical expertise with problem-solving skills to ensure successful operations.

This role requires a highly motivated, passionate individual eager to push field capabilities, working closely with construction, engineering, and product teams to troubleshoot and optimize robotic systems at solar sites.

The engineer will collaborate across teams, providing feedback, installation reports, and solutions to improve production goals, supporting our mission to accelerate decarbonization.

Major Responsibilities

1. Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
2. Operation Monitoring: Oversee robot performance, ensuring uptime, and report anomalies.
3. Collaboration & Troubleshooting: Work with team members to debug issues, provide feedback, and compile reports.
4. Customer Focus: Ensure deployed systems meet customer requirements and address inquiries professionally.
5. Innovation & Efficiency: Seek solutions to enhance operational efficiency and productivity.
6. Maintenance & Optimization: Perform regular maintenance and software/hardware updates.
7. Documentation: Keep detailed records of activities and performance reports.
8. Operations Planning: Support development of operational plans based on project needs.
9. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Engage with engineering, leadership, and construction teams for site improvements.
10. Mission Alignment: Embrace the goal of accelerating decarbonization and promoting sustainable practices.

Qualifications

1. Entrepreneurial Mindset: Passionate about results with a curiosity for new opportunities.
2. Education: Bachelor’s in a relevant technical field (e.g., computer science, electrical engineering, robotics) with experience as a Field Application Engineer or similar.
3. Experience: Practical field operations experience, preferably in solar or robotics. Programming and configuring robotic systems experience is a plus.
4. Technical Skills: Familiarity with Linux systems, control algorithms, motion planning, and sensor integration.
5. Soft Skills: Ability to work collaboratively, communicate effectively, and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment. Results-oriented with a proactive attitude. Passion for sustainability.
6. Problem-Solving: Capable of troubleshooting machinery issues and making quick decisions.

Travel: Willing to travel frequently to solar farm sites, approximately 80% of the time.

Languages: English required.

Location: Remote, with 90% of time on construction sites.
