Role Overview

The Robotics Field Application Engineer will be essential to the MAXIMO solar innovation team, responsible for deploying, supporting, and optimizing our MAXIMO robot in the field, managing operational aspects, and troubleshooting issues. This role combines technical expertise, problem-solving, and a production-oriented mindset.

The ideal candidate will be motivated, passionate, and eager to push the boundaries of current capabilities. Working closely with construction managers, engineering, and product teams, you will ensure successful deployment and operation of robotic systems, acting as the key technical liaison to troubleshoot and debug on-field issues, and collaborating to ensure solar site and module requirements are met.

This position involves working across MAXIMO teams, providing feedback, reports, and solutions to improve production goals. We believe accelerating decarbonization requires bold actions, empowering the world to meet future energy needs sustainably.

Major Responsibilities

1. Safety Compliance: Ensure all safety regulations and procedures are followed to maintain a safe working environment.
2. Operation & Monitoring: Oversee robot performance, ensure smooth operation, report anomalies, and track issues.
3. Collaboration & Troubleshooting: Work with developers, engineers, and construction managers to debug issues, provide feedback, and compile installation reports.
4. Customer Focus: Ensure solar sites and modules meet customer requirements, and address inquiries professionally.
5. Innovation & Efficiency: Push field capabilities, brainstorm solutions, and enhance productivity.
6. Maintenance & Optimization: Monitor robot performance, perform maintenance, and implement updates as needed.
7. Documentation: Keep detailed records of activities and provide regular performance reports.
8. Operations Planning: Support development of MAXIMO operations plans aligned with project schedules.
9. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Engage with engineering, leadership, and construction teams to share insights and improve site operations.

Qualifications

1. Founder’s Mentality: Entrepreneurial drive, proactive attitude, curiosity for new opportunities.
2. Education: Bachelor’s in a relevant technical field (e.g., computer science, electrical engineering, robotics) and experience as a Field Application Engineer or similar.
3. Experience: Practical field operations experience, preferably in solar energy or robotics, with programming and configuration skills.
4. Linux Skills: Familiarity with Linux-based control and monitoring systems.
5. Robotics Knowledge: Understanding of control algorithms, motion planning, and sensor integration.
6. Skills & Behavior: Ability to work collaboratively, communicate effectively, results-oriented, quality-focused, passionate about sustainability.
7. Problem-Solving: Capable of troubleshooting machinery issues and making quick decisions in the field.

Travel: Willing to travel frequently to solar farm sites (80+%).

Languages: English required.

Location: Remote role with 90% travel to construction sites.
