Job summary

Chalk is seeking a Forward Deployed Strategist to guide the technical direction of customer integrations and ensure architectural depth across Chalk’s inference platform. You’ll work alongside sales, delivery, and support to align outcomes with customer objectives and production realities.

You will partner with FDEs and customer engineering teams on model-driven and agentic workloads, balancing latency, cost, and correctness while shaping Chalk’s roadmap through real deployments and field

Qualifications

• Hands-on production infrastructure experience with live traffic.
• Ability to advise engineering teams on systems you did not build.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Run technical discovery to understand a customer’s architecture and pain points.
• Design and scope Chalk-based solutions with clear correctness, latency, and cost criteria.
• Set bar for agentic workflows and safe execution inside customer clouds.
• Define and execute tight POCs with a clear success criteria and scope.
• Answer principal engineers' questions and partner with sales on accounts.
• Break work into projects with owners and dates for delivery by the team.
