Job summary

Hippocratic AI is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to own AI deployments in healthcare settings. You will embed with customers to design, launch, and operate production conversational AI agents that handle real clinical workflows and patient interactions.

By day 90 you will own your first deployment end-to-end, implement a RAG pipeline grounded in customer data, and establish monitoring to catch anomalies before customers do. Travel is 25-40% with base compensation and stock options.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/SE or related field.
• 3+ years of professional software engineering with Python.
• Hands-on experience with LLM frameworks (LangChain, LangSmith).
• Deep expertise in RAG, prompt engineering, tool calling, and LLM-as-judge.
• Experience integrating with APIs, databases, or enterprise systems; reliability engineering practices.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement RAG pipelines grounded in clinical data, ensuring safety and relevance.
• Build tool-calling and MCP architectures to connect AI agents with customer systems (EHRs, data warehouses, tools).
• Develop production Python code using LangChain, LangSmith, and modern AI frameworks for advanced LLM techniques.
• Deploy end-to-end infrastructure, testing, monitoring, and go-live execution with minimal surprises.
• Monitor production systems, troubleshoot with customers, and deliver fixes for reliability.
• Explain AI system architecture to customers and build confidence through proactive communication.
