Job summary

General Equipment & Supplies, Inc. is hiring a field service technician to operate a mobile service vehicle and travel to customer locations in Western North Dakota. You will diagnose and repair aggregate equipment, with overtime and occasional overnight stays possible.

You report to the Bismarck Branch and may work from home. Qualified candidates have a Class A CDL and 3+ years of field experience or completion of the Aggregate Apprentice Program, plus strong diagnostic and customer-service

Qualifications

• Must have completed Aggregate Apprentice Program or has a minimum of 3 years of equivalent experience
• Must have Class A CDL
• Own hand tools up to and including a ¾ drive set
• Welding/fabrication experience is helpful
• Excellent customer service skills both internal and external as a representative of General Equipment
• Must be willing to travel as there may be occasional overnight field service work

Responsibilities

• Builds knowledge of dealer supported product lines, service standards, and procedures
• Perform field repairs and maintenance with minimal supervision
• Basic testing knowledge of all machine systems
• Repair and recondition all aggregate equipment components and systems
• Develops diagnostic reasoning skills and applies them to field issues
• Operate heavy construction equipment safely and efficiently
• Collect data for inventory control and reporting
• Attend service schools as requested
• Maintain clean, safe work environment and properly care for tools and vehicles
• Complete all paperwork for jobs
• Maintain positive relationships with service, parts and admin teams
• Use Pedigree electronic logbook system effectively
• Maintain DOT compliance
• Occasionally perform other duties as directed by Service Management
