Job summary

Hardy Industries is seeking skilled Fiber Testing and Splicing Technicians to support our growing national client base. You will perform fusion splicing, OTDR testing, and certification tasks across diverse facilities, including data centers and telecom networks.

As a 1099 contractor, you will travel within your coverage area, with on-site pay and travel compensation. This role demands independent work in varied environments and a strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Fiber optic testing and troubleshooting experience required.
• Experience with OTDRs, power meters, light sources, fiber certification equipment, and visual fault locators.
• Understanding of single-mode and multi-mode fiber optic systems.
• Familiarity with structured cabling standards and best practices.
• Ability to read network diagrams, splice schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation.
• At least 1 year of Fiber, I.T., or Telecom experience, and one of the following: FOA/CFOT/BICSI/Network+ or 5+ years field experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform fiber optic testing and splicing tasks including OTDR, power meter, light source testing, and fiber certification.
• Conduct fusion and mechanical splicing as needed.
• Inspect, clean, and remediate connectors; replace fiber jumpers.
• Install, terminate, and test single-mode and multi-mode fiber optic cabling.
• Document test results, splicing records, and project deliverables.
• Work independently across retail, medical, restaurant, corporate, telecom, and data center environments.
