Job summary

Next Level Technician in Spartanburg, SC is hiring a Fiber Technician to pull, route, label, and terminate fiber optic cables for a major data center project. You will perform fusion splicing, test with OTDRs and power meters, and read blueprints to ensure accurate routing and splice documentation.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of commercial fiber optic installation experience
• Experience pulling, terminating, testing, and fusion splicing fiber optic cable
• Proficient using OTDRs and fiber testing equipment
• Read blueprints and fiber routing drawings; maintain splice documentation

Responsibilities

• Pull, route, dress, and label fiber optic cable
• Terminate single-mode and multimode fiber
• Perform fusion splicing and maintain splice documentation
• Test fiber using OTDRs, OLTS, power meters, and light sources
• Troubleshoot fiber connectivity issues and resolve deficiencies
• Install fiber enclosures, patch panels, cassettes, and racks
• Read and interpret blueprints and splice documentation
• Maintain labeling and documentation throughout the project
• Follow OSHA and site safety requirements while maintaining clean installations
