Job summary

TDS Telecom is seeking a Field Service Technician III to maintain and repair our fiber and telecommunications networks in the Tonto Basin area. You will install, troubleshoot, and service a range of equipment including PBX, central office gear, and customer premises devices while coordinating with project teams.

This role requires a valid driver's license, ability to work Monday–Friday 8am–5pm with on-call rotation, and willingness to travel within the region.

Qualifications

• 2+ years technical telecommunications experience or military service with honorable discharge.
• 1+ year fiber optic and/or copper cable splicing and repair, installation and repair, or switch training.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.
• Must follow attendance guidelines to meet business needs.
• Available for on-call/standby responsibilities and occasional travel.
• Must pass Safety Course curriculum and DOT requirements.
• Ability to operate vehicles with manual transmissions.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Customer service and sales skills are required.
• Strong organizational and multi-tasking abilities.

Responsibilities

• Installs, troubleshoots, tests, splices, repairs, and maintains telephone and network equipment for customers.
• Installs and maintains central office equipment and back-ups for switch/voicemail.
• Provides advanced troubleshooting and responds to trouble dispatches.
• Maintains records and cross connects, line groups, and network elements.
• Educates customers and sells TDS products and services.
• Performs project management for installations.
