Job summary

TDS Telecom in Mooresville, NC is hiring a Broadband Technician II to perform intermediate to complex cable installations, service changes, and troubleshooting for residential customers with FTTH and RFoG/GPON technologies.

The role includes on-call responsibilities, a 60-minute commuting requirement from the Mooresville warehouse, and a $3,500 sign-on bonus. Training and certifications listed are required for advanced levels in this family of positions.

Qualifications

• 1+ year basic technical telecommunications experience -OR- current/prior military service with honorable discharge.
• 6+ months of basic fiber optic and/or copper cable splicing and repair, installation and repair, or switch training.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.
• Must follow the TDS attendance guidelines in order to meet TDS's business needs including but not limited to our obligations to our customers and to our customers' needs.

Responsibilities

• Performs intermediate and complex installation of all necessary cable wiring from the tap to the customer’s equipment for reception of cable and other company services.
• Performs connects (new connects and reconnects), disconnects, upgrades, downgrades, relocates, install outlets, fiber connections, and hardline cutovers; installs or removes equipment at single or multiple unit dwellings.
• Uses test equipment to identify and repair signal strength issues and ensure optimum reception both optical and RF.
