Job summary

IES is seeking a Technician I - Fiber to install, terminate, test, and splice fiber optic cables across commercial projects. The role requires basic copper termination skills and familiarity with LC/SC/ST connectors, OTDR testing, and safe working at heights.

You will document work orders, timesheets, and related paperwork, supporting a fast-paced field crew. The position offers full benefits after 30 days and is a full-time direct hire opportunity with competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Must be proficient with listed tools and testing equipment.
• Must possess basic copper termination skills and fiber termination knowledge.
• Experience with OTDR testing and splicing is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Install, terminate, test, and splice fiber as part of field work.
• Perform cabling and termination up to wall jacks and outlets per standards.
• Operate OTDR and perform troubleshooting of fiber links end-to-end.
• Complete documentation such as timesheets and work orders on time.
