We have an immediate opening for an energetic Fiber Technician in Shakopee, MN!

As a Fiber Technician, you will perform installations, disconnects, and service changes for residential and business customers, including high-speed internet, phone, and TV services. You will also troubleshoot and repair services from the fiber terminal or ONT to customer devices (TV, modem, wireless devices, etc.).

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Install and troubleshoot all Metronet services from the terminal to Customer Premise Equipment (CPE).
• Provide customer education on all Metronet products and services.
• Explain Metronet services and products to customers, earning commissions where applicable.
• Maintain professionalism with customers and colleagues.
• Work towards meeting key performance metrics.
• Perform other job-related duties as requested, subject to applicable laws.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience with telecom or fiber companies is preferred but not required.
• Physical ability to work in various positions and conditions, including attics, crawl spaces, and adverse weather.
• Ability to climb ladders up to 25 feet with proper safety equipment.
• Ability to lift and carry loads up to 75 lbs.
• Basic proficiency with hand tools and specialized equipment.
• Operate and maintain company vehicle and equipment safely.
• Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
• Willingness to work independently and as part of a team.
• Legally authorized to work in the U.S.

ADDITIONAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Perform on-call duties after hours.
• Work overtime, including holidays and weekends, as necessary.
• Travel for training or other work-related needs.
