Position Summary

Are you mechanically inclined with a knack for hands-on work? Do you enjoy a flexible schedule and working independently, but also have the support of a team? The Equipment Service Technician is a remote-based Customer facing role, primarily working inside hospitals. You will troubleshoot and repair medical equipment.

Ideal candidates may have experience in HVAC repair, mechanics, maintenance, refrigeration, boilers, chillers, equipment repair, diesel and automotive repair, aviation repair, plumbing, electrical, etc.

This role requires heavy travel, up to 75%, within Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, Indiana, Illinois, Nebraska. Overnight travel Monday-Friday, including some weekends, is expected.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance of STERIS and competitor equipment.
• Manage time effectively to complete PM, service calls, warranty calls, installations, upgrades, and other duties.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to escalate issues and utilize technology to meet compliance and document troubleshooting.
• Provide customers with information, pricing, and repair options; build relationships to enhance customer experience and identify sales opportunities.
• Support various locations within the assigned territory based on service agreements and customer needs.

Required Skills and Experience

• High School Diploma or GED with 4+ years of relevant work experience, including 2 years in a mechanical/technical role. Certifications or military experience may be considered.
• Valid driver's license and ability to meet background and physical requirements for credentialing.
• Customer service and team engagement experience.
• Effective communication skills.
• Basic computer skills (MS Windows, email, mobile apps, data entry).
• Flexible schedule with potential overnight and early/late hours.
