Job summary

Forged Fiber in Spokane, WA seeks a Fiber Tech II - Splicing Technician to install, splice, test and troubleshoot fiber optic cable across our networks. You will work on construction, operations, maintenance, and restoration tasks, using OTDRs, power meters, splicers, and documentation for reliable service.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years of fiber splicing experience, strong reading of prints/diagrams, and the ability to lift up to 75 lbs while following safety policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of fiber splicing/telecom outside-plant experience or equivalent training.
• Ability to read construction prints, splice diagrams, and permits.
• Proficiency with fusion splicer, OTDR, optical power meter, fiber identifiers, and inspection scope.
• Strong written and verbal communication; able to document work clearly.
• Able to work outdoors in all weather and lift up to 75 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Install, splice, test, and troubleshoot fiber for construction projects and restorations.
• Troubleshoot fiber faults using OTDR, power meter, scope, and fault finder.
• Prepare and repair splice cases/enclosures across aerial, buried, and manhole work.
• Perform tests and audits; create field splicing reports when required.
• Coordinate with crews and engineers to meet project schedules and safety rules.
• Read and interpret construction prints and diagrams for accurate work.
