Job summary

Forged Fiber in Spokane, WA is seeking a Fiber Tech II – Splicing Technician to install, splice, test and troubleshoot fiber optic cable across construction, maintenance and restoration projects.

You will read construction prints, operate OTDR and power meters, prepare splices, perform tests, and document field results while adhering to OSHA and company safety standards. High school diploma and 2+ years splicing experience required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid state driver's license with clean driving record.
• 2 years of fiber splicing/telecom outside-plant experience or equivalent training.
• Proficiency with fusion splicer, OTDR, optical power meter, fiber identifiers and inspection scope.
• Ability to read construction prints, splice diagrams, maps and permits.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and outdoors in varied conditions.

Responsibilities

• Install, splice, test and troubleshoot fiber optic cable for construction projects.
• Troubleshoot faults using OTDR, power meter, and related tools; document results.
• Prepare and repair splice cases/enclosures across aerial, buried, and manhole environments.
• Perform tests including dark fiber, reel and continuity testing; restore service.
• Read prints/diagrams and coordinate with teams to meet schedules.
• Operate field devices for work orders and maintain safety compliance.
