Job summary

Wire 3 is hiring a Fiber Splicing Technician to install and maintain fiber optic networks, including FTTH. You’ll read blueprints, splice charts, and schematics while following NESC/OSHA codes. The job involves lifting, operating lifts, and working at heights in outdoor conditions.

The role requires 2+ years in fiber installation, a valid license, and strong problem-solving as you troubleshoot DWDM/CWDM architectures. On-call rotations and shift work are expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of FTTH and fiber optic installation experience.
• Experience with excavation & earth-moving equipment (preferred).
• Experience with heavy equipment operation (preferred).
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform fiber optic installation and maintenance, including FTTH and loose tube fiber (small and large count).
• Load and secure materials or equipment for transport from the show-up yard to job sites.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections, clean, and maintain equipment to ensure optimal safety and performance.
• Operate hydraulic aerial lifts and truck-mounted ladders.
• Set up a safety perimeter using signage, cones, and safety barriers.
• Work in heights and confined spaces as required.
• Keep detailed records of work activity and maintain clean and organized work areas.
• Must be available for shift work and on-call rotations.
• Follow blueprints, wire diagrams, and splice charts for fiber installation.
• Ensure compliance with NESC, OSHA, and related state and local codes.
• Assist with troubleshooting various fiber architectures, including DWDM and CWDM mux/splitters.
• Collaborate with CO/NOC technicians for hot cuts and maintenance windows.
• Lead and direct workflow to maintain high-quality results.
• Other Duties as assigned.
