Job summary

CABLESOUTH MEDIA III LLC is hiring a Full Time FTTH Outside Plant Fiber Splicer in Winnfield, LA. The role focuses on splicing, testing, and troubleshooting fiber in OSP environments to support FTTH deployments and maintenance.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in fiber splicing, strong fusion skills, and the ability to interpret prints and run OTDR tests. On-call hours and travel across the service area are required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of hands-on outside plant fiber splicing experience.
• Proficient in fusion splicing for large fiber-count cables.
• Able to read construction prints and splice diagrams.
• Experience testing and certifying fiber spans with OTDR and power meters.
• Willing to be on call, including nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Perform fusion splicing of single-mode fiber cables (144+ count) in aerial, underground, and buried environments.
• Read and interpret splice diagrams and fiber routing sheets per specs.
• Test spans with OTDR and power meter/light source; record results.
• Troubleshoot faults and perform emergency repairs to restore service.
• Splice and test in enclosures, cabinets, vaults, and NIDs.
• Maintain splicing/test documentation and as-built records.
• Coordinate with crews to align splicing with build schedules.
• Stay compliant with safety protocols and PPE requirements.
• Operate company vehicle to travel to job sites; support on-call needs.
• Pass background check and drug screening as required.
• Pass post-offer physical assessments if applicable.
